Chester Bennington’s Estate Passed Along to His Family

While the world is still mourning the loss of the Linkin Park frontman, his estate is to be inherited by Bennington’s wife and his six children. His will also stated that he wanted his children to stay in touch. The Linkin Park tribute concert in his honor is scheduled for this weekend with a ton of names showing their support, including Blink-182, Machine Gun Kelly, and Kiiara. RIP to Fats Domino after 89 Incredible Years

Music lost a legend today after the death of Fats Domino at the ripe old age of 89. Best known for classics such as Blueberry Hill and Ain’t That a Shame, Domino was a hero in New Orleans and a huge influence on the RnB scene, particularly known for his ‘boogie woogie’ style. His reputation was so regarded as a performer that his sets were known to cause riots. He will be surely missed.

Eminem Wins Case Against New Zealand Political Party

A New Zealand judge has decided that a New Zealand political party owes Eminem money, to the tune of about $400,000 after violating the copywright for Lose Yourself. The song in question even had the name Eminem Esque. The case is reported to have some odd moments in it, possibly marking the first time Eminem lyrics have been used as evidence in a court of law. It also serves to send a word of warning to producers that make sound-alikes and hopefully should lead to an increase in orginal sounding music.

Latin Music Revenues Booming in the US in 2017

Riding on the shoulders of Despacito, Latin Music Revenues are up 44% in the first half of 2017 to a whopping $115 million. The total Latin music market in the US contributed to about 2.9% so far in 2017, with the major turn around beginning in 2016, with much of the potential gains lost to piracy in previous years. With massive potential ahead, this should lead to some big payments to the artists, which in turn should lead to a continued wave of greatness out of the Latin music corner.

P!nk Shining Off Strength of New Album in 2017

If I told you at the beginning of 2017 that by the end of October, P!nk would be the best selling female artist of the year, you might not disbelieve it outright but I would understand some skepticism. However, as of now that’s exactly the case. Her seventh full-length album, Beautiful Trauma, is currently the 4th best selling album of the year. Considering the names that she’s trailing just behind are Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and Ed Sheeran, this is no small feat. A big congratulations to her and may she continue her run through the end of the year and into 2018.
